Pure visual ASMR. Excerpts of videos found on the internet – of the “oddly satisfying” variety – are assembled in such a way that it creates a piece of video art in which loops of sounds and images fabricate an elastic, palpable and undulating texture.

Wang Yuyan had already explored the rhythmic possibilities of the super-cut with The Devil In The Details’ terrifying hands. Now, she elevates raccord art to a mantra of ripples and liquid textures that cut across the story of moving images, from the scientific film to viral video, through ASMR, historical archive, or 3D modeling. A mutant phrase flows through this torrent of “satisfactory” images, in a geography of the present that functions as a crystal ball of individual becoming. (Ricardo Vieira Lisboa)
