Lisbon Screenings

Lisbon Screenings – Promoting Portuguese Cinema Worldwide

31 August – 2 September 2020 online

Portugal Film – Portuguese Film Agency organizes again, during IndieLisboa, the Lisbon Screenings, an activity that aims to give visibility to Portuguese cinema, concentrating in the same online space films, producers, directors and international decision makers in one place.

With a focus on the internationalization of Portuguese cinema, Portugal Film promotes all throughout the year several actions (presence in markets, festivals and screenings for the industry) aimed at bringing films to distributors, festivals and local exhibition networks that will show them to an international audience.

The Lisbon Screenings, which will take place on the 31st of August, 1 and 2 September, will present a selection of new titles, short and feature films, to directors and programmers of festivals, invited exclusively to these screenings. During three days, professionals from the foreign film industry will be able to watch unreleased Portuguese films selected for their internationalisation potential, so that a consistent path is drawn for each film before the moment of its completion. Many of the films shown in the past editions had their premiere in main festivals such as Berlin, Rotterdam, Locarno and Sundance, among others.

Access to the Lisbon Screenings is by invitation only. The details of the featured films will be published in IndieLisboa’s industry booklet, available for download in August.
