An 18 year-old-girl called Joy has gone missing. Another girl called Helen is asked to play Joy in a police reconstruction that will retrace Joy’s last known movements. Joy had everything. A loving family, a boyfriend, a bright future. Helen, parentless, has lived in institutions all her life and has never been close to anyone. Helen begins to immerse herself into the role, visiting the people and places that Joy knew; quietly and carefully insinuating her way into the lost girl’s life. Is Helen trying to find out what happened to Joy that day, or is she searching for her own identity?

When a woman rents a miserably tiny room, she finds mountains of belongings from the previous tenant, Anthony, as well as a backlog of messages on the machine from the landlord, his mother, and disparate acquaintances. As she cleans up the place, she begins to experience uncanny visions, nightmares, and the feeling that Anthony is much closer than she imagined. Terror haunts her sweaty-summer mind as she ritualistically cleans the room, strips to old-fashioned bra and panties, climbs in the fridge to cool down, and makes pudding.
On an arctic shore, in a calm so absolute that water waves like oil, one can ear a deep breathing. Out of time and far from the human world, some walruses are sleeping. Their sleep so deep that the approach of a boat hardly troubles it.
A found footage film. An Italian sixties softporn soundtrack which is repeated two times. Each time a sequence of images is synched to the soundtrack. The film images are illustrating acts of ocular light perception as well as imagery with strong visual impact. It’s a kind of visual test directed towards the viewer.

It appeared that that before the Second World War (in the thirties) in the USSR a secret space program had been developed. The Soviet scientists and military authorities managed to launch the first spacecraft with a cosmonaut on board 23 years prior to Jury Gagarin’s flight.

In a deserted school, a Romanian military unit has set up its headquarters. In front of maps become useless, the Romanian officers are awaiting disaster. A visit of a high ranking Wehrmacht officers is suddenly announced. Hope is awakened: will they receive new orders? Will they counterattack? Will the chaos of retreat end? But disappointment comes quickly…

Gerda has to do some choices, choices which must lead to see other horizons. Around her, some convulsions: a time is finishing.
From a mere technical point of view the tv/video screen comes alive by a controlled beam of electrons in the cathode ray tube. For ‘Energie!’ an uncontrolled high voltage discharge of approx. 30.000 volts exposes photographic paper which is then arranged in time to create new visual systems of electron organization.

At first glance everything seems motionless. A street, passers-by, a sunset, all accompanied by electronic humming: Current Shot 01 consists of a single 15-minute shot. The picture is framed by the upper bodies of two people looking into the light of the setting sun. But the apparent stillness of the shot turns out to be deceptive. The detail oscillates between animated photography film still and tableau vivant. “
The primal impulse, the moment of light, is the trigger for a view searching for this situation in space. In intervals of dawn our gaze searches for a motion that cannot be located within the image. Due to unpredictable shifts of the images length, we self produce the motion in between the frames. The labyrinth of connections between the motion images traps the gaze, and no longer lets it free.
