A disillusioned man is tired. Tired being tired. Times come in a man’s life, when one wonders which doors were opened, which remain closed, and those irreversibly locked.

Wonderful Town

Damage done by the Tsunami has gone out of sight but is still spreading beneath the surface. Wonderful Town is set in a small declining village that wasn’t directly affected by Tsunami but located near a southern Thailand resort area that got washed away. One day, a salesman, Ton, checks into the hotel. A little brother of the hotel’s host, Wit, passes the day not doing much. When he finds out that Ton is having an intimate relationship with his sister, his rage explodes and he kills Ton. The film exposes people who were thrown into despair and isolation against their will and how their scars affect others.

Day Night Day Night

A 19-year-old girl prepares to become a suicide bomber in Times Square. She speaks with no accent; it’s impossible to pinpoint her ethnicity. We never learn why she made her decision — she has made it already. We don’t know whom she represents, what she believes in ‚ we only know she believes it absolutely. The film strips the story down to its existential core. It focuses on microscopic movements, the smallest gestures, an economy of banal details. Inspired in part by a story in a Russian newspaper and playing off a history of Joan of Arc films, the film transpires on the girl’s face. The minimalism of the face is confronted with the visual and aural noise of the city.

Drama/Mex

Drama/Mex is a bitter-sweet telling of three intense human relationships stories that are interlaced during one night in contemporary Acapulco. Once upon a time a luxurious port, now in decadence, Acapulco serves as a background for a suicidal old man, for a 15 year old runaway girl and for a young couple who face the hardships of separation after a tragic break up. We see glimpses of a night that will change their lives and our perception, as we see different points of view of the events.

Lucio, a man without a way that comes from Buenos Aires, arrives to the ‘Yellow’, a brothel from a small town in Argentina. There meets Amanda, a prostitute without hope in life. This encounter offers them a possibility to get their lives better.

The future looms at the horizon, but all of them won’t be there to see it.
