Marina Karpova was born in 1972 in Minsk, Belarus, where she studied at the Academy of Arts. She directed an entertainment television programme and several commercials, television shorts and music videos. After working as an animator for several different studios, she was a director and screenwriter in Soyuzmultifilm Animation Studio between 2014 and 2019.
