Terra Infirma

In Terra Infirma a still life painting becomes charged with motion as the earth is disturbed; gradually the images are destructed frame by frame, and eventually the paper erodes, as do the subjects within.

Whores' Glory

Three different locations of prostitution: Thailand, Bangladesh and Mexico. The first part is set in a fish tank brothel, where the prostitutes are sitting behind a lit glass like models ready for a runway, where customers chose. Prostitution in Thaland is an everyday routine, a customer service, an entertainment business in contrast with the two other cities. In Bangladesh, women are approaching their job as a social service. If they didn’t perform their services men would be raping women on the streets. They sacrifice their sence of shame everyday for money. In México, we are getting literally the glory of the profession, where Glawogger is filming a prostitute at her service. Worderful images exceptionally edited accompanied by the sounds of PJ Harvey and Cocorosie constitute a voyeuristic camvas on the oldest profession. (Nina Veligradi)

Beeswax

Beeswax is the third feature from American indie auteur Andrew Bujalski. A pair of identical twin sisters share an Austin home. Athletic free-spirit Lauren is between jobs and boyfriends and considering going abroad to teach English. More up-tight Jeannie is a paraplegic who co-owns a local vintage store where she has ongoing problems with her business partner. A Character based script offers yet another low-key take on twentysomethings finding their way.

From a hotel room in Marseilles, he remembers his time with the company. The structure of the film follows these memories only loosely, with plot and dialogue taking a back seat to a series of fleeting scenes and choreography of training, fighting and dancing bodies executing routines which tell a story all of their own.

Backstory

Portrait of the founders of rear projection, the Hansards, who were responsible for much of the rear projection techniques used in 20’s Hollywood films: actors stand in front of a translucent screen while film is projected from the rear.
