One of the most talked films of 2014 arises in IndieMusic: The Punk Singer, an amazing telling of the life of Kathleen Hanna, member of bands like Bikini Kill, The Julie Ruin and Le Tigre, a documentary that reveals the history of Punk music and the movement Riot Grrrl.

The unexpected We Don’t Wanna Make You Dance introduces the American band that never reached stardom ‚ Miller Miller Miller and Sloan. Alan Vega: Just a Million Dreams comes to us as an intimate portrait of the New York based Suicide vocalist, the private side of one of the gods of Punk music.
Regarding the Portuguese films that merge in the IndieMusic selection there will be distinguished national authors. Paulo Segadães (ex-Vicious Five) in True documents the creative and production process of the most recent album of the notable Legendary Tigerman. Mudar de Vida, a documentary directed by Nelson Guerreiro and Pedro Fidalgo, show us a dazzling record with archive footage never seen before about the life and work of José Mario Branco. The film will open IndieMusic and will be shown on the 25th, at 21:45, in Cinema São Jorge. In spite of the fact that the film is about music, be ready for much more as this documentary spills images and conversations concerning the Colonial War, the portuguese dictatorship and the singer’s exile.
