PLOT Script Lab 2021: Submissions are open

In a partnership with IndieLisboa as of 2018, PLOT – Professional Script Lab returns for its 2021 edition happening as part of the festival industry activities.

What?
PLOT is a professional script development lab, promoted in a creative community environment, where filmmakers from all over the world have the chance to broaden their narrative skills and enhance their creative voice.
High-end script experts provide guidance throughout the lab and challenge the participants with the goal of reaching their projects artistic and creative potential.

Who?
Writers, writers/directors, directors or producers from all over the world with a fiction feature film screenplay at an advanced stage of development. Applicants are expected to have professional experience in writing, directing or producing film. All scripts submitted must have at least one production company attached to the project and ideally some development funding in place. Focus in narrative and character driven films will be privileged as PLOT will apply efforts on exploring and discovering new ways for genre-based storytelling.

How?
Submission Fee: 15 EUR (via FilmFreeway)
Participation Fee (for selected projects only): 250 EUR*
*Up to 2 Scholarships (covering full participation fee) will be assigned for Portuguese participants.
Final deadline for submissions: 31st December 2020
A maximum of 6 projects will be selected to participate at PLOT 2021 and will receive guidance during the three-day workshop.
All submitted projects must include the following elements in ONE SINGLE PDF-FILE on its FilmFreeway project profile page, at the application moment:
– an updated CV for both writer/director and producer/production company;
– a project synopsis (1 page maximum);
– a story treatment (4 pages maximum);
– note of intent for both screenwriter/director and producer;
– audiovisual approach documents (moodboard, etc.);
– links to previous work.
All submissions must be made in English language (even if the film is not meant to be spoken in English language). Before submitting, please check its Rules & Terms.
Selected projects will be required to submit a full-draft screenplay in time for the workshop (the draft should be ready to submit by March 2021).
The participants of the lab will also have the opportunity to present the projects to a panel of decision makers of the international film scene, follow the program of the IndieLisboa festival and to participate in exclusive Masterclasses.
