Oasis e Sleaford Mods revistos na secção IndieMusic

Supersonic, the documentary which depicts Oasis’ career, will get its first and only national theatre screening at IndieLisboa in May. As part of the IndieMusic section, the film tells the story of the incredible ascension to fame of Oasis, from the initial band practices to the unforgettable concert at Knebworth. Through the eyes of Mat Whitecross, the documentary collects testimonies of the band, its family members and all the people who saw first hand the collective’s rise in popularity, as well as rare backstage videos. Supersonic was produced by Asif Kapadia and James Gay-Rees, who won the Oscar for Best Documentary with Amy, about singer Amy Winehouse, in 2016.

The Guardian called them “Britain’s angriest band” and they are “the greatest rock band of our time”, according to Iggy Pop. In five years, Sleaford Mods have carved for themselves an undisputable presence at the top of the charts and they’re one of the most recognized bands of the post-punk DIY genre. In Bunch of Kunst, the way the band took the musical business by storm is analyzed, with an intimate look at the relationship between lead singer Jason Williamson (an ex-factory worker), Andrew Fern and their manager and editor Steve Underwood. Directed by Christine Franz, the documentary will premiere in May at IndieLisboa 2017 by Allianz, one month before the Sleaford Mods play at NOS Primavera Sound and right after their album English Tapas was released, on May 3rd.
