On April 30, at 15h00, the Chinese drama Jia/The Family is going to be shown at Museu do Oriente (Avenida Basília, Doca de Alcântara). This is a chance to discover in the right atmosphere a long portrait, of more than 4 hours, of the relationship between parents and sons that crosses generations and that talks about the evolution of the Chinese world. Ozu’s classic Tokyo Story turns into a “Shanghai Story”, by the Chinese Australian based director, Shumin Liu. An old couple decides to visit their adult children that the hardships of life sent away.
