O furacão Macaigne

Le Monde called him a “theatrical bomb”, The Guardian called him “the new Gérard Depardieu”. There is no doubt that Vincent Macaigne is the most outstanding actor of his generation but acting is only one of his many skills: Macaigne, who is coming to IndieLisboa in 2016, is also a film director, a playwright and a stage director. People who have been paying attention to french cinema in the last few years have noticed this genius of realism who manages to charm everyone with his alarming honesty. We will notice this in Louis Garrel’s Les Deux Amis and Guillaume Brac’s Tonnerre. We will dive in his soothing voice in Céline Devaux’ Le Repas Dominical, and see him reinvent Molière in his first feature film, Dom Juan & Sganarelle, made in 2015. We will also share unforgettable moments, conversations and Q&As with the actor, during the festival. We invite you to discover this Independent Hero, who will be sharing the section’s focus with Paul Verhoeven.
