In 2015, IndieLisboa will present a collaboration with one of the most renowned European educational establishments – the Geneva University of Art Design. A selection of films representing the school’s work in independent film will be shown – one that defends film as an exchange of ideas and experiences between different genres and formats. HEAD has been promoting, with visiting professors such as Gabriel Abrantes, Pedro Costa, and Miguel Gomes, an academic and practical research that considers documentary and fiction not as opposing forms, but rather complementary formats in the development of its students’ film knowledge. Some of HEAD’s most recent films will be shown in a short film session composed of Gospel of Anasyrma (2014), by Elene Naveriani, Mapalé (2014) by Jorge Cadena, Komorebitachi (2014) by Sophie Perrier, and Meccarillos (2014) by Aurélie Pernet, while three feature films will also be shown as an example of what the school considers to be strong examples of independent cinema: Kurz davor ist es passiert (2007) by Anja Salomonowitz, Stalingrad Lovers (2012) by Fleur Albert, and Über die jahre (2015) by Nikolaus Geyrhalter.
