IndieLisboa 2015 will bring some new surprises in its sections’ structure. We have not yet reached the time to reveal the programme but this is the day to communicate a delightful change: Silvestre is the new section of the festival, a name given after a particular hero/heroine. Just as Silvestre, a 1982 film by João César Monteiro and also a complete body of work from a director to whom we wish to pay a very special tribute, the films in this new section will not be afraid to follow unexpected paths, refuse impositions or seek alternative routes, even if they can become a little more wild or dangerous. By fusing previous Observatory, Emerging Cinema and World Pulse sections, the Silvestre section of the festival will gather works both from young filmmakers and established authors, with films only bound by their uniqueness.
IndieLisboa 2015 films’ will be divided among the following sections:
International Competition – first, second and third films
National Competition – portuguese films
Silvestre – films from both emerging and established filmmakers, an overview of the best independent films of the last year
Brand new – school films and first steps for young directors
IndieJunior – children and youth section of the festival (3 to 14 years old)
Independent Hero – retrospective dedicated to an author whose work is unreleased in Portugal
IndieMusic – films with an epicenter on music
Director’s Cut – a dive inside the memory of cinema
Special sessions – key films of national and international contemporary cinema and special thematic programs
