(EN) IndieLisboa’11 unveils 245 strong film line-up

IndieLisboa has unveiled its full line-up for its 8th edition and will present 245 films as well as workshops, panel discussions and a live concert by the English band Tindersticks.

Ten films have been shortlisted for the main International Competition of features section and forty four for the shorts, which is reserved for first or second time directors.

Other official sections are the National Competition that includes the most recent local productions, Observatory section, Emerging Cinema, World Pulse, IndieJunior. Side sections are the IndieMusic, the Director’s Cut and the Special Screenings section.

Twenty eight films will have their world premiere, fifteen their international premiere and four their European.

Opening the festival will be Carlos by Olivier Assayas and Les Amours Imaginaires by Xavier Dolan in two different venues simultaneously. The line-up also includes Post Mortem by Pablo Larraín, Neds by Peter Mullan, Meek’s Cutoff by Kelly Reichardt, Homme au Bain by Christophe Honoré, Mulberry St. by Abel Ferrara, Tabloid by Errol Morris and A Letter to Elia by Martin Scorsese and Kent Jones.

A Independent Hero retrospective is dedicated to the Brazilian director Júlio Bressane.

Tindersticks will bring together the music that they composed for the French Claire Denis films with the evocative images that inspired it in the 11th of May.
