The 55th edition of Cork Film Festival, in Ireland, will screen a retrospective dedicated to Portuguese short films. The festival will take place from 7th to 14th of November and will screen a program that includes films from recognized authors, but also from new talents.
The program contains short films produced throughout several decades, such as Douro, Faina Fluvial (1931) and A Caça (1963), by Manoel de Oliveira, Passe io Com Johnny Guitar (1996) the only short film directed by João César Monteiro, Os Salteadores (1993), by Abi Feijó or Estória do Gato e da Lua (1996) by Pedro Serrazina. Short films directed by national young talents will also be screened, such as Voodoo (2010), by Sandro Aguilar, Inventário de Natal (2000), by Miguel Gomes, Rapace (2006) by João Nicolau or Um dia frio (2009) by Cláudia Varejão.
The line up was curated by both festivals: Cork Film Festival and IndieLisboa Film Festival with the cooperation of the Portuguese Short Film Agency.
