Applications are now open for the 8th edition of the Portuguese Film Fund, an instrument to support the post-production of Portuguese films, created in 2011. The 2023 edition consists of the usual partners: IndieLisboa – Associação Cultural, Lusófona University, Digital Mix Música e Imagem, GDA Foundation, The Yellow Color and Portugal Film – International Portuguese Film Agency.
Short or feature films can apply, regardless of genre (animation, documentary, experimental, fiction) when in the early stages of post-production, authored by Portuguese directors (or foreigners with permanent residence in Portugal) and with (co-) Portuguese production.
The prizes to be awarded unfold as follows:
a) Lusófona University: financial support in the amount of €1,500 awarded to a project of any length and genre;
b) Digital Mix Música e Imagem: sound post-production services for a feature film and a short film;
c) GDA Foundation: € 6,000 for the creation of original music, rewarding a feature film (€ 4,000) and a short film (€ 2,000), or alternatively three short films (each € 2,000);
d) The Yellow Color: two days of post-production studio image for a short film, with the technician(s) paid separately.
Until the deadline is reached, more prizes can be added. In this case, the projects already registered will be contacted regarding any additional need.
The deadline ends on March 3rd and the selected projects will be announced on the March 27th.
The 8 selected projects will later be presented to an international jury, during the IndieLisboa festival (April 28th-30th), and will be followed by a series of one-on-one meetings with interested decision makers.
