Film projects in post-production phase, by Portuguese filmmakers or by foreigners residing permanently in Portugal, who wish to apply for the 2018 edition of the Cinema Support Fund (Fundo de Apoio ao Cinema) may do so until March 8.
The Cinema Support Fund is a complementary tool to support the post-production of Portuguese films and the 2018 edition is composed by the following partners: IndieLisboa – Cultural Association, Lusófona University of Humanities and Technologies (ULHT), Digital Mix Música e Image, and GDA Foundation.
Among the supports granted are: the value of € 1,500 attributed to a documentary and filming equipment, by the ULHT; post-production sound services for a feature film and for a short film, by Digital Mix Music and Image; and € 6,000 for the creation of original music, awarding a feature film (€ 4,000) and a short film (€ 2,000), or alternatively three short films (each € 2,000) by the GDA Foundation.
Candidate projects may be of short or feature films, regardless of their genre (fiction, documentary, animation or experimental) and they must be at the start of post-production at the time of application.
A commission with members of all the partner entities in the 2018 edition will choose 8 projects (of all valid applications received) by March 30.
These 8 pre-selected projects are subsequently presented to an international jury, during the IndieLisboa festival, in which the authors give a presentation pitch.
The final decision is known the day following the pitch and a maximum of 4 projects will be supported.
