Cinema ao Ar Livre na Reabertura do Capitólio

Save the date: on May 5th, the Cineteatro Capitólio/Teatro Raul Solnado reopens its doors for the first open air screening of the 14th IndieLisboa. Since its glory days after the revolution of 25th of April and its closing in the 90s, this will be the first time the Capitólio gets a full program of films, during the festival. Between the 5th and 13th of May, every night, at around 21h30, a film from the IndieMusic section will be presented, on the rooftop of the building. On the first night, we will screen Tony Conrad: Completely in the Present, the documentary which takes a look at the undeniable legacy of Velvet Underground’s godfather.

In the nights that follow, the beautiful view of the city serves as the backdrop for the screenings of: Bunch of Kunst (May 6th), The Man From Mo’Wax (May 7th), Revolution of Sound. Tangerine Dream (May 8th), A Story of Sahel Sounds (May 9th), Liberation Day (May 10th), Where You’re Meant to Be and Talasnal (May 11th), Beatbox, Boom Bap Around the World (May 12th) and Shot! The Psycho-Spiritual Mantra Rock (May 13th). In total, there will be nine screenings of the IndieMusic section at Capitólio. The rest of them will happen in the remaining venues of the festival. On the rooftop, there will also be a bar (open at 20h30) where you will be able to get homemade beers of the MUSA brand, to drink and enjoy during the films.

During these screenings at Capitólio, people will also have the opportunity to be part of several Q&As with some of the creators behind the documentaries: Paul Williams, producer of Tony Conrad: Completely in the Present (May 5th), Christine Franz, director of Bunch of Kunst (May 6th), Matthew Jones, director of The Man From Mo’Wax (May 7th), Florian Klaeger, director of A Story of Sahel Sounds (May 9th) and Pascal Tessaud, director of Beatbox Boom Bap, and Wawad, French beatbox champton, also the protagonist of the film (May 12th).
