Eight films which premiered at IndieLisboa 2016 are amongst the nominees of this year’s Sophia Awards, by the Portuguese Film Academy.
– Letters from War, by Ivo M. Ferreira (10 nominations);
– I was in Lisbon and Remembered You, by José Barahona (2 nominations);
– Here in Lisbon, by Denis Côté, Dominga Sotomayor, Gabriel Abrantes and Marie Losier (Best Original Score by Red Trio and Norberto Lobo);
– Campo de Víboras, by Cristèle Alves Meira (Best Fiction Short Film);
– Batrachian’s Ballad, by Leonor Teles (Best Short Documentary);
– Mudar de Vida, José Mario Branco, Vida e Obra, by Nelson Guerreiro e Pedro Fidalgo (Best Documentary Feature);
– Cinema, Manoel de Oliveira and Me, by João Botelho (Best Documentary Feature)
– The Wolf’s Lair, by Catarina Mourão (Best Documentary Feature)
The winners will be announced on March 22nd.
