Between 2000 and 2003, The Parkinsons burst onto the punk scene, that was thought to be dead in the UK. Afonso Pinto, Victor Torpedo and Pedro Chau were the Coimbra boys who put London on fire. “We danced, undressed, throw things, bite people’s feet”, said Victor. Their shows promptly gained fame. In 2002, the world was at their feet. Afterwards, they were swallowed by their own chaos. In the IndieMusic section we show, amongst other films on iconic bands and musicians, A Long Way to Nowhere, which includes images of concerts and testimonies about the Coimbra’s band that shook the world. After the screening of The Parkinsons, we held a party with a concert by The Parkinsons themselves, followed by a Dj set by CVLT. They are naked, loud and riotous. And they want your soul. Do we need to say more? In the 22th of April, at 23h00, in the Taberna das Almas, we invite you to leave your soul in this great concert (entry: 8 euros).
