The IndieJunior program is drawn bit by bit, with each film being positioned accordingly in the screening that fits its age bracket. We will leave this for later – the 22nd of March to be exact, which will be the day where the complete festival program will be revealed. For now, we can emphasize again that Portuguese cinema is alive and well and that IndieJunior will integrate many national productions, just like in the past: it’s the case of the first film we are announcing, Estrela’s Kids, from Carolina Caramujo Machado. The regular visitors of this beautiful Lisbon park will recognize the characters and the familiar nooks and crannies. “What would you like to see in a film? What do you want to be when you grow up?”. Four kids living in Estrela answered these questions and their replies were materialized. In an attempt to embody their fantasies and to give life to their words, the Estrela park becomes the set for the narrative, where the characters of their stories live.
