(EN) Films screened at IndieLisboa now in theatres

Over the years, IndieLisboa has been bringing the attention of the public to important names of the independent cinema, which are later shown in cinema all over the country. Spring Breakers by Harmony Korine and The Loneliest Planet by Julia Loktev are some examples that can now be seen at commercial theatres.

One of the most expected films of the festival, Spring Breakers byHarmony Korine, displayed in a special session reserved to IndieLisboa fans in the mythical room Manoel de Oliveira at Cinema São Jorge, had its premiere. The film, distributed by ZON Lusomundo, presents a very particular vision of the well known spring break with a three pop stars of the television universe juvenile cast selection turned into mercenary of James Franco will, a brilliant cliché of drug dealer hyper-seductive.

The Loneliest Planet, the third feature film from Julia Loktev, is an adaptation of a Tom Bissell story, where Alex (Gael Garcia Bernal) and Nica (Nani Furstenberg) in love and almost married, leave to the discovery of the mountains of Caucasus, in Georgia. The film, with amazing pictures, displayed on IndieLisboa’12, will have its premiere on May 23th, by Alambique.
