Viennale celebrates its 50th anniversary this October. IndieLisboa will honor the moment with a program showing five films, one for each decade, a selection based on what we feel to be the Viennale’s essence.
The bond between both festivals has strengthened in the past few years through exchange visits of programmers and screenings of IndieLisboa’s awarded Portuguese films in Vienna. Hans Hurch, Viennale director, will present the program in Lisbon.
The Happy Birthday Viennale selection comprises five screenings, each preceded by a selection of the Viennale’s trailers. IndieLisboa will show all these one minute long short films, shot by filmmakers like Jean-Luc Godard, David Lynch, Leos Carax, Apichatpong Weerasethakul and many others.
