After winning the award for best Portuguese short film at IndieLisboa’09, Arena by João Salaviza, was one of the award winners, attaining the Palme D’or for best short film.
Arena made its first appearance at IndieLisboa’09 and it’s João Salaviza’s second short film. At the early age of 25 and still studying cinema, João Salaviza was the only Portuguese director who had a film selected to be in competition in one of the most renowned festivals of Europe.
