"Abyss" by Leonor Noivo was the project selected to represent Portugal at Euro Connection 2014, on the 4th and 5th of February at Clermont-Ferrand (France). The portuguese projects were evaluated by Euro Connection’s representants in Portugal, the festivals IndieLisboa and Curtas Vila do Conde.
The project by Leonor Noivo is produced by Terratreme, and portrays the story of a mother and a son. During an auspicious summer, a set of changes is installed: a new home and new paths are to be explored. A trail made by paths which are separated to be reunited later, following the discovery of a new love or the search of a past.
Leonor Noivo was born in 1976 and study Architecture and Photography before entering the Escola Superior de Teatro e Cinema, where she made her specialization on Editing and Directing. Since 1999, worked in annotation, editing and as assistant director, and collaborated with João Botelho, José Nascimento, Rui Simões, Pedro Caldas, Sol de Carvalho, Gonçalo Galvão Teles, Christine Reeh, among others. At IndieLisboa she has presented Assembly (2006), Excursion (winner of the National Competition Grand Prize in 2007), Later-day Saints (2009) and Other Letters or the Invented Love (2012).
