From France, reaches us the solitary nature of Shalimar Preuss’s Ma Belle Gosse (April 23rd, 19:15, São Jorge Cinema, Sala Manoel de Oliveira and April 25th, 14:45, Cinema City Classic Alvalade, Sala 3) and from Argentina, Jasmín López’s Leones (April 22nd, 21:30, Culturgest, Grande Auditório and April 26th, 17:00, Cinema City Classic Alvalade, Hall 3), which was considered by the newspaper Público the best film of this edition International Competition.
To see there’s still Simon Killer (April 22nd, São Jorge Cinema, SalaManoel de Oliveira), the second feature film from the director of Afterschool, Antonio Campos, and Leviathan (April 23rd, 19:00, Culturgest, Grande Auditório and April 26th, 21:45, Cinema City Classic Alvalade, Hall 3), an unique experience, which defies the notions of cinema, signed by Véréna Paravel e Lucien Castaing-Taylor.
Distinction is given to two more films integrated in this section: Eat Sleep Die, from Gabriela Picher (April 22, 14:00, Culturgest, Grande Auditório, April 22, 19:00 Culturgest, Grande Auditório and April 24, 21:45, Cinema City Classic Alvalade, Hall 3), a film which dives into the nowadays subjects of unemployment and immigrant integration, and Órleans, by Vigil Vernier (April 24, 19:00, Culturgest, Grande Auditório and April 27, 17:15, Cinema City Classic Alvalade, Hall 3), which explores the unexpected romanticism of two strippers lives and the equally bizarre annual commemorations in honor of Joana d’Arc.
