The film All Is Well by Pocas Pascoal won the main award for fiction feature films at this year’s Los Angeles Film Festival.
According to the jury, filmmaker Pocas Pascoal has transformed her personal story of exile from Angola into a deeply affecting drama, whose cinematic power if particularly impressive in the work of a first-time feature director.
Inspired by her life experience Pocas Pascoal portrays the history of two young sisters who flee the civil war in Angola and, alone, will survive and become adults.
This award granted by the feature fiction jury is worth 15.000 dollars (around 12.000 Euros).
All Is Well premiered in Portugal at IndieLisboa’12 where it received the TAP Award for Best Portuguese Feature Film.
