In April 2012, Panazorean ‚ International Film Festival will be born in São Miguel island, Azores. Devoted to the migratory and intercultural issues, this initiative will have a programming partnership with Zero em Comportamento (the organisation behind IndieLisboa) regarding the National and International Competitions.
The festival is organised by AIPA ‚ an Immigrants Association in Azores ‚ and its purposes are to reinforce intercultural dialogue, to present reality and the richness of cultural diversity. It will take place during 8 days (from April 14th to 21st 2012) and it is intended to act like a meeting and dialogue point for directors, producers, experts and the public, to discuss the festival’s main themes. Besides films, the festival will also present exhibits, debates, masterclasses and concertos.
Film submissions are already open at the festival’s website until December 31st, 2011. Shorts, features, fiction, animation, documentaries and experimental films from all over the world and on any migratory and intercultural reality may apply. The films should have been produced after January 1st, 2010.
Azores, privileged exchange spot, of arrivals and departures, offer the perfect scenery to the development of this project.
