The 7th edition of IndieLisboa International Film Festival begins tomorrow. After “Greenberg”, screened at Culturgest (7 p.m.), the official Opening Ceremony will show “Fantasia Lusitana”, a documentary by João Canijo, at São Jorge Cinema, 9.30 p.m.
Exclusively built from archive footage, Fantasia Lusitana shows the contrast between the fantasious images of the dictatorial regime propaganda and the written testemonies of celebrity refugees who stumbled across Lisbon on their way to some place far from nazism. Actors Hanna Schygulla, Rudiger Vogler and Christian Patey lend their voices to the stories of Erika Mann, Alfred Doblin and Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, which reflect these author’s astound regarding the Portuguese notions of reality.
The session will be presented by the festival directors, in the presence of the Minister of Culture, as well as the film’s director and producer.
