The 10th edition of IndieLisboa represented a mark in the history of the festival – a decade of independent cinema in Lisbon, mobilizing a total of 45 thousand persons to the set of the festival activities.
For eleven days, from April 18th to 28th of April, IndieLisboa received around 30 thousand spectators in its screening theatres. At the four theaters (Culturgest, São Jorge Cinema, Cinema City Classic Alvalade and Cinemateca Portuguesa) screened 246 films divided in 238 sessions, 20 of which have been sold out.
Besides the number of people who attended to film screenings, it is essential to highlight the strong adherence to parallel activities. IndieJunior workshops had nearly two hundred young participants and during the six days of the LisbonTalks programming we received 222 guests at the seminar and discussions.
The overnight programming Indie by Night, this year in partnership with the legendary Ritz Club at Praça da Alegria, brought over 3000 people to the meeting point of the festival during its parties, concerts and dj sets.
For the first time IndieLisboa streamed several key moments of the festival (press conference, opening and closing ceremonies, debates and concerts), which reached 10,467 viewers online.
Despite the difficulties the festival faced the past three years, IndieLisboa is stronger thanks to the invaluable support of its partners, directors, producers and industry representatives who contributed to the consolidation of one of the most important cultural events in Portugal.
