Desculpe, este conteúdo só está disponível em Inglês (Eua).

39 short films from all over the world compose IndieLisboa’12 International Competition. These films will be evaluated by the Short Film International Jury. This year, the panel of juries is constituted by Maria João Madeira (Portuguese Cinematheque programmer), Paolo Moretti (among other, he worked as programmer in Pompidou Centre, Venice Festival and Cinéma du Réel) and Gabriel Spahiu (the renown Romanian New Wave actor).

For IndieLisboa, short films represent a democratic reflection on the art of cinema, they congregate young directors and recognized authors, all of them exploring new languages which are rules-free and artistically flexible. Complying with this democratic spirit, IndieLisboa ’12 will screen films like Random Strangers by Alexis dos Santos- a modern love story which materialises itself through a webcam -, The Unliving ‚ a zombie movie -, and Or Anything at All Except the Dark Pavement – a silent film. In the animation films, IndieLisboa will screen, among others, Oh Willy and The Great Rabbit (this last one directed by the Japanese director Atsushi Wada, recently awarded with the Silver Bear in Berlin Film Festival).

Finally, a spotlight on four highly anticipated short films: Soul Catcher, by PV Lehtinen – an ode to the still image -, Le Facteur Humain by Thibault le Texier- archive images of a taylorist construction-, Retour à Mandima, by Robert-Jan Lacombe ‚ a documentary in the sequence- and the film Polvo directed by Angela Reginato – a testimony film about the people who disappeared back in the 70’s in Mexico – .

There will be other 5 Portuguese selected short films to the Short Film International Competition that will be announced on the Press Conference on 27th March.
