November is the month of the Portuguese cinema in Europe. From 18th to 24th of November, IndieLisboa, with the support of the Hungarian film library Örokmozgó, presents a selection of Portuguese films in Budapest. At the same time, in the 20th of November, the Posthus Teatret, in Denmark, will screen a program of short films, also selected by IndieLisboa, in cooperation with Kulturopa.
Budapeste will screen a selection of the best features and short films that made part of IndieLisboa’s program in the last years. Örokmozgó Cinema will present Fantasia Lusitana by João Canijo, Águas Mil by Ivo M. Ferreira, A Zona by Sandro Aguilar, Movimentos Perpétuos by Edgar Pêra and Ruínas by Manuel Mozos. In the short films section will be screened Arena by João Salaviza, Um Roupão Vermelho Sangue by Pedro Caldas, A History of Mutual Respect by Gabriel Abrantes and Daniel Schmidt and Crime/Abismo Azul/Remorso Físico by Edgar Pêra.
In Copenhagen, the program called A Melancholic Affair will screen some of the best short films that made part of 2009 and 2010 IndieLisboa’s editions: Carne by Carlos Conceição, Visionary Iraq by Gabriel Abrantes and Benjamin Crotty, Arca d’Água by André Gil Mata, Pássaros by Filipe Abranches and Arena by João Salaviza.
The two programs have the support of Instituto Camões in Budapest and Copenhagen and the Portuguese embassies in both cities.
