The film A History of Mutual Respect by Gabriel Abrantes and Daniel Schmidt won the Golden Leopard in the 63rd edition of Locarno Film Festival, which ends today. The short film was selected to the international competition of this festival in the section Leopards of Tomorrow, comiited to the revelation of young talented directors. It is the second award conquered by this short film in International Film Festivals, after winning the Media Recording Award for Best Portuguese Short Film in IndieLisboa’10.

In the IndieLisboa previous edition, held in 2009, this same award was given to “Arena” by João Salaviza that, two weeks after, won the Golden Palm at Cannes Film Festival. For the second year in a row, winning an award at IndieLisboa has been a good kickoff for the Portuguese short film directors’ international careers.
