Noah Baumbach’s latest film will open the festival on the soon to come 22th of April, followed by João Canijo’s Fantasia Lusitana. Greenberg was part of the 60th Berlin International Film Festival’s program this year, and will be presented in IndieLisboa’s section “Observatory”, at Culturgest’s Large Auditorium – 7 p.m.
The festival opens with the story of Roger Greenberg (Ben Stiller), a man going through a midlife crisis, who travels to Los Angeles to look after his brother’s house, whose life is by far more successful. After settling in, Roger decides to look for an old friend, Ian, and also ends up getting to know Florence (Greta Gerwig), his brother’s assistent, a little better. He soon sparks with her and begins to feel like a bit of happiness is in order.
Baumbach’s return, after The Squid and the Whale, and Ben Stillers’ performance, have been well received by the public and critics, and the fact that the film, with soundtrack by James Murphy, will only screen on this date, make it a must-see altogether.
